Professional Standards
I am a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Clinical Psychologist. HCPC is the regulatory body set up under the authority of parliament to protect the public. Clinical Psychologists must meet HCPC standards for training, professional skills and behaviour.
What you discuss in therapy sessions is confidential and information will not be disclosed to anyone else without your consent. Confidentiality is only broken if what you talk about presents a serious risk to yourself or others.
Protecting your data - GDPR
A new law was introduced on 25th May 2018 which gives people more clarify over how personal information is managed. It is called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
I aim to be as clear as possible about how and why your data is used so that you can be confident that your privacy is protected. Two policies have been developed to explain how personal information is collected, and how this information is managed to ensure that it is secure.
I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). The ICO upholds information rights in the public interest, promoting openness by public bodies and data privacy for individuals. My ICO reference number is ZA168984.
